POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES :
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Enters patient demographics and proof-reads Pathology reports.
2. Answer telephones efficiently and courteously, and transfers calls effectively.
3. File pathology reports accurately.
4. Handles consultations, legal & other send-out cases.
5. Uses Pathology and hospital computer systems efficiently.
6. Process paperwork for outside pathology laboratories to ensure timely reports and accurate billing.
7. Ensure pathology reports cross over into the hospital computer system.
8. Provide secretarial support (Microsoft Office) for clinical and anatomic laboratories.
9. Maintain accurate attendance records for all Laboratory staff.
10. Sets up webcasts & other educational offerings and maintains education manual
11. Assists with billing issues (charge reconciliation, manual corrections, etc.)
12. Ensure orientation packets are provided to new hires & they are finished within 90 days.
13. Pull monthly PI data for supervisory review & action.
14. Assist with functions associated with Decentralized Testing.
15. May be assigned to other tasks and/or required to vary schedule to meet the needs of the laboratory and patients.
16. Demonstrates commitment to the ASPIRE standards.
POSITIONS REQUIREMENTS :
Experience : Computer and work processing skills, filing and general secretarial skills and knowledge. Prior experience with use of medical terminology is highly desirable.
Education : High school graduate or equivalent. Medical terminology is desirable.
Special Qualifications : Needs to be efficient, well organized and detail oriented. Must be able to work well under pressure and remain efficient and polite.
