Position Description: o Assists with the selection and procurement of wind turbine generators for utility-scale wind energy projects o Assists the Construction and Operations teams with negotiation and execution of turbine supply, installation, warranty, and maintenance agreements o Secures competitive bids for the transportation and installation of turbine equipment o Manages and monitors turbine-related logistics and installation services o Evaluates pricing proposals and term sheets for turbine supply o Manages relationships with turbine vendors o Manages the technical due diligence process o Works closely with the Energy Assessment and Finance departments to develop detailed models of turbine performance o Benchmarks and models various turbines based on multiple performance attributes o Assesses the manufacturing capability of turbine suppliers and subcomponent manufacturers o Manages factory inspection program o Tracks the global and U.S. wind turbine markets o Monitors technological advances in the wind industry o Tracks the turbine equipment procurement activities of competitors o Understands and manages documentation, contracts, budgets, schedules, engineering and construction interfaces, project controls, project correspondence, and project reporting o Maintains effective communication with all team members o Participates in the engineering, design, and construction review process o Organizes, schedules, and prepares agendas for meetings between turbine suppliers and team members o Additional duties as required
Position Requirements: EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in a related field; MBA preferred PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years of technical, engineering, construction management, or heavy industry manufacturing specific experience LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION: n/a OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Proven skills in procurement, negotiation, accounting, scheduling, business administration, contract management, engineering, and construction Excellent time management skills Excellent organizational skills, including ability to organize and maintain a fluid administrative process Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations and equations Ability to read and understand plans, specifications, drawings, and documents relating to engineering and construction projects Experience and skills relating to electronic processing of drawings, documents, cost reports, and project schedules Familiarity with short- and long-range planning techniques Exceptional oral and written communication skills Demonstrated leadership skills Exemplary standards of integrity, honor, safety, management, ethics, quality, and productivity
